Cate Gormley joined the firm in 2006. Cate works with foundations, non-profits, and issue advocacy organizations and has a wide range of experience conducting quantitative and qualitative research. Cate’s research portfolio includes a variety of progressive issues: reproductive health and justice, women’s leadership, workplace policies, national security, gender-based violence, children’s health, transportation and more. Cate brings a dedication to women's issues to her work every day. She worked to defeat anti-choice ballot measures in North Dakota (Measure 1 in 2014 and the Religious Liberty Restoration Amendment in June 2012), Colorado (Amendment 67 in 2014), Florida (Amendment 6 in 2012), New Mexico (Albuquerque 20-week ban in 2013), and California (Proposition 4 in 2008). In recognition of this and other work, Cate was named to the American Association of Political Consultants’ 40 Under 40 Class of 2017. Cate is a native Houstonian and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in English. She is the proud mother of two spirited children.
