For over 30 years, Dr. Robert Meadow has been one of the top Democratic pollsters and strategists in the country. Bob joined Lake Research Partners in 2005, following LRP’s acquisition of Decision Research, the firm he founded in 1982. Bob has worked for dozens of current and former members of Congress, statewide officials, state legislators, mayors and city council members. He is one of the nation’s foremost experts on ballot measure and initiative campaigns. He has been a lead consultant for state legislative caucuses in New Hampshire, Ohio, Washington, Pennsylvania, Florida, Oregon, Tennessee, South Carolina, Virginia, and Oklahoma.
In addition to his work with political candidates, Bob specializes in environmental issues, education, civil rights, transportation, land use, infrastructure, public financing and is a pollster for the leading animal welfare groups. He also has conducted research for cities, school districts and numerous public agencies. Bob brings to LRP extensive campaign experience, as well as formal academic research training. He was a partner in a full-service political consulting firm, with responsibilities for campaign strategy and management, media production and survey research.
Before becoming a political consultant, Bob was a noted academic. He received his Ph.D. in political science as well as his bachelor’s degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He taught at the University of Pennsylvania, the University of California, San Diego, and the University of Southern California, and was the founding Director of the Kentucky Poll and the University of Kentucky Survey Research Center. Bob has authored four books and dozens of articles on public opinion, media and politics.
Bob reads and speaks passable French, Spanish and Italian, and has a reading knowledge of Portuguese. In addition to his travels around the world, he has lived in Argentina, Chile, Singapore, Italy, Australia and the UK. He is based in Southern California.
